There are many facets of preventive pet care. Beyond the scope of vaccinations, parasite prevention, weight management, and dental care, regular pet grooming appointments have an incredible impact on wellness.
Of course, it’s wonderful when pets look (and smell) their absolute best, but our professional groomers can help them feel their best, too.
Not Just Aesthetics
Some pet owners opt to bathe and groom their pets at home. This can be an incredibly fun and bonding experience, and it’s also an opportunity to exercise control and obedience together.
Similarly, cats fastidiously care for their coats and skin. Using barb-covered tongues, cats self-groom whenever they aren’t sleeping, hunting, playing or eating. However, when their coats are brushed and combed regularly, cats swallow less hair and have fewer hairballs.
Needs It the Most
All pets, whether they agree or not, can benefit from routine professional pet grooming. Pets that are especially active outdoors need help removing dirt, mats, debris, and parasites.
Furthermore, an important component of pet grooming is nail trimming, a task that most pet owners have trouble following through with (despite their best intentions).
Pet Grooming can be Fun, We Promise!
Pet grooming appointments can be a little daunting at first for newcomers, but we do everything we can to facilitate an enjoyable – even fun – experience. Many dogs show their enthusiasm for shared grooming times with other happy dogs.
The Nitty… and the Gritty!
Professional pet grooming creates opportunities for more eyes and hands to closely inspect your pet’s appearance for any signs of trouble. Our groomers pay extra close attention to the eyes, ears, skin, and coat quality for any signs of potential illness or injury. As assessment of lumps and bumps can often precede a veterinary appointment to clarify what’s normal, and what’s not.
In other words, pet grooming can result in the early detection of developing health conditions.
A Word on the Scoot Factor
It’s not uncommon for dogs to need their anal glands expressed. If you’ve noticed your pup scooting around on the carpet, a pet grooming appointment can help relieve the discomfort connected to full or impacted anal glands.
What to Expect
Pets need to have the following up-to-date vaccinations prior to their grooming appointment:
- Rabies
- Distemper
- Bordetella
We recommend keeping a standing appointment for your pet to avoid scheduling challenges. Depending on your pet’s breed and lifestyle, they may benefit from grooming appointments every 4 weeks to 3 months.
We customize every appointment based on owner specifications and preferences. They may receive a full-service package that includes bathing the coat, warm air dry, trim, mat removal, nail trim, anal gland expression, and ear cleaning.
